Typical Inspection Reports
The BER system is structured on a scale of names from A1 to G where A1 is the most energy efficient. A dwelling's rating is determined by gaining a measure of its energy usage in Kilowatt-hours per square metre floor area per year (kW /sqm/annum) and its result determines which band it falls into.
This information forms the basis of a BER certificate, the format of which is illustrated on the following page. The BER must also be accompanied by an advisory report. BER is valid for up to 10 years.
