Wall/roof junctions and ceiling penetrations

Wall/roof Junctions

This is possibly the longest junction in the dwelling through which air leakage can occur. Careful consideration should be given to the sequencing of work at this junction.

Ceiling penetrations

Gaps around ceiling penetrations are a vital area to seal correctly. Gaps around services in these penetrations can lead to warm air rising into the attic space. If there is a temperature difference between the attic air and the leaking air, this can be an area where condensation is likely to occur.
