Filed in New Build

We moved into our home in October 2019. It took just shy of a year to complete the build. We chose not to go down the route of a self build after speaking to several people who had gone through the process. So once we had our planning permission approved we sent our plans out to tender. After some research, we chose our contractor and I can definitely say we made the right decision. Having someone else in charge of arranging tradespeople, ordering supplies and all that's in between, in my opinion, is priceless. Now that's not to say we had no stress during the process but definitely less than we would have had if it was a self build. Decisions on everything still needed to be made but luckily we had a builder who was very patient with us when it came time to pick out paint colours, flooring, tiles etc. Any stress related to our house build was very much worth it. For us to own our own home together means everything and we still sometimes have to pinch ourselves when we realise this is ours!
