Creating a feature wall in your room is an innovative way to make your home stand out and look like you put a lot of thought into the décor. A feature wall compliments the existing features in the room and can make the room flows easily. The feature wall determines the style for the rest of the room as everything else, for example, furniture, artwork, décor, should compliment and correlate with the focal point. Here are a few examples of how to create the perfect feature wall for a room in your home:

1. 3D Monochrome Wall

A monochrome wall is one of the more difficult looks to accomplish as it could turn out dull or boring. A well-designed monochrome wall can be the focal point of a room, creating a beautiful chic look. A black accent wall with dimensions like shapes and shadows easily gives an artistic look to your home.

2. Tile Wall

Tile walls can consist of anything from ceramic tiles to heavy patterned tiles, to mini mosaics. A modern tile adds character to a room, and you can create a stunning focal point with a tile feature wall. Tiling is traditionally found in the kitchen or bathroom, but a contemporary tile can make for a fun and colourful addition to your home.

3. Wallpaper

Wallpaper is always going in and out of trend. Right now, removable wallpaper is in. Without the permanency, it is so much easier to give your home a makeover if you feel like it, without ruining the walls! The design ideas for a feature wall with wallpaper are endless and will fit into any room in your home.

4. Paint

Painting a single wall a bold, block colour is a simple but effective way to add dynamic to a room. This is a good place to start if you’re unsure about your style but want to add something extra to your interior design. Taking a further step and using paint to create unique patterns and designs is certain to produce a gorgeous focal point to any room.

5. Mirror or Artwork

Sometimes the perfect addition for a feature wall is an accessory, like a large mirror or oversized artwork.

Adding a mirror is a great hack for a smaller room as they make the space feel bigger. Mirrors demand attention and they always look exquisite, whether you have a simple mirror or a more indulgent one.

If art is more your style, choose a large piece of artwork as your staple décor instead. An oversized painting brings a dramatic effect to any room. Artwork is classical and attention grabbing and will show anyone that visits your home that you have taste.
